We’re Thankful for… Community & Service

By Ivy Shtereva
VP, Marketing

With Thanksgiving aroud the corner, it's time to remember all we have to be grateful for. It’s also a time to reflect on how we can give back to our communities. Throughout the year, Yes Marketing employees participate in service days to assist local charities in their mission to help our neighbors in their time of need. With gratitude, we’d like to highlight a few of the amazing charities we partner with and give you - our community - the opportunity to learn about these worthwhile causes and see another side of our teams.

Happy Thanksgiving and thank YOU for making our community stronger!

New York team

The New York team worked with Citymeals on Wheels to help their homebound elderly neighbors. Citymeals on Wheels has delivered more than 60 million nutritious meals to seniors in New York to fight elder hunger. Yes Marketing employees braved the weather to get out and deliver meals and smiles to local seniors.

Burlington team

The team in Burlington, MA partners with People Helping People. This organization serves the needs of Burlington residents who find themselves in financial difficulty. The team helped deliver food to their local food pantry and stock the shelves there. The Burlington Food Pantry serves around 130 families in Burlington, or roughly 350 people a month, 35% of whom are children. Over the holiday season, the Burlington Office will also work with People Helping People to fulfill the holiday wishes of community members.

Minneapolis team

Our Minneapolis office teamed up with Feed My Starving Children and the Minnesota Twins to join their “Pack at the Park” event at the Twins’ baseball stadium. The annual event brings thousands of volunteers together to pack one million meals for children around the world – enough to provide a daily meal to more than 2,500 kids for a year.

Dallas team

For the last decade, Minnie’s Food Pantry has been providing healthy meals to feed the hungry in the Dallas area – serving nearly 10 million meals to those in need. Our Dallas office volunteered to help Minnie’s Food Pantry with a variety of activities from valet food delivery to the unpacking trucks, sorting food, packing family boxes and stocking shelves. The team sent 2,755 meals home with 58 families to feed 154 individuals and unpacked 18 pallets (3,305 lbs of food!) into 291 boxes for next-day distribution. In addition, the office collected donations of gift cards and food items.

Denver team

The Yes Marketing crew in Denver, CO volunteered at Food Bank of the Rockies. The charity helps nearly half a million people each year in 30 counties in Colorado and the entire state of Wyoming and provides more than 145,000 meals each day. Our team members helped to pack up 74,000 lbs of food for delivery to neighbors facing hunger.

Portland team

The Portland office partnered with the Oregon Food Bank which fights hunger by providing food through a statewide network of 21 regional food banks and approximately 1,200 food assistance sites. The Oregon Food Bank estimates 552,900 Oregonians are facing hunger with 194,070 of those being children. The Yes Marketing team volunteered to pack food and meals at the Portland location to be distributed to families in need across the state of Oregon.

Chicago team

Employees in our Chicago office worked with the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) team to help veterans in the Chicago area. Our team volunteered at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center serving food in the Jesse Brown Food Pantry, a weekly pop-up food pantry at the hospital, where they helped combat food insecurity/hunger for 125-150 veterans during this service day.
